Les Japonaises

< BACK

The spiritual abstractions of the painter Gérard Besset include medium format paintings that the artist calls "Les Japonaises".

Asian inspired, they result from his many trips to Asia. The Japanese women present a work on Ambert paper, on a paper 400g cloth, acrylic;

Composed of a superposition of traces made to the palette giving the paper a new dynamic, the colors become materials in contrast with black.

Black becomes an aesthetic mediator in the painter's work between the white of the paper and the bright colors.

The represented space is the mirror of a violent world of contrasts.

Dynamic and eye-catching, the colors become an explosion of lively emotions, impulse and strength.
